HYPERNEX – IGNITION OF THE EUROPEAN HYPERLOOP ECOSYSTEM (funded by the European Commission, Shift2Rail programme)
Paving the way for ultra-fast trains racing through tubes.
The Hyperloop is an innovative mode of passenger and freight transport. If all goes to plan, passengers may be zipping around in futuristic pods running through tubes at speeds above 1000 kph. However, regulators first need to understand hyperloop operations. Also, industry and the R&D ecosystem need a better understanding of how this ultra-fast travel mode can work. The EU-funded HYPERNEX project focuses on the need for a catalyst to facilitate the development of the European hyperloop ecosystem and contribute to the convergence of R&D institutions, industry actors, regulators and societal needs with hyperloop developers. HYPERNEX will improve understanding between hyperloop developers and pave the way for this mode of transport.
